DAN DICO, real name Daniel Baum
Born 1980 in Brunswick, Germany
2001-2008 – Faculty of Architecture and
Urban Planning at Leibniz University Hanover. Currently lives and works in Hanover.
In 2001 Dan moved to Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony, where he has been running his advertising agency for 15 years and at the same time pursuing his passion – contemporary art. Art has always played a very important role in his life. His interest in abstract art dates back to his early years, and he started drawing at the age of 16.
DAN is always drawn to his second home in Florida, where much of his family lives. DAN DICO: “Most people would say that Florida is not a state – Florida is a way of life” – and it is precisely that way of life that he seeks to conjure in his art.
Dan‘s works are highly energetic, colorful, uplifting and strive for something beyond the ordinary. Clients say that his paintings bring joy and color into their lives.
He is an inspirational artist whose background and studies in architecture and design translate into uniquely dynamic canvases.

Artist Statement
My interest in abstract painting was shaped by my parents’ understanding of art. I’m still in a process that will probably never end. My painting method is based on spontaneity and instinct, applying color, shapes, lines and materials such as gold foil that do not correspond to any deep or profound meaning.
The aim of every painting is to evoke a reaction on the one hand, but on the other hand to create a good feeling when looking at it.
